How can we help?

Most test problems come down to posture or contact, and the fixes are below. Still stuck? A person answers on WhatsApp, 08:30 to 17:30.

Set up in four steps.

  1. 01

    Batteries in

Fit the four AA batteries from the box. Place Dial on a hard, level floor in a dry room: not on a carpet, and not in the bathroom.

  2. 02

    Get the app

Install the InBody app (iOS 15 or later, Android 8 or later) and register. Turn on Bluetooth and allow notifications.

  3. 03

    Pair your Dial

Switch the scale on, then add it from the device menu in the app and confirm.

  4. 04

    H30 and H40: add everyone

Give each person a nickname and connect your home Wi-Fi. After each person’s first test started from the app, Dial recognises them on its own. On the H20, press the dial and set your height before each test.

Watch: connect your Dial to the InBody app
  • InBody app: select the device you want to register, InBody H30 or H20 series.

    Pick your Dial

H20, H30 or H40, straight from the list.

  • InBody app: enter a nickname for your InBodyDial H30, with a preview of the name on the scale’s screen.

    Name it

Your nickname shows on the Dial’s own screen.

How to stand for a good reading.

Dial reads your arms, trunk and legs one by one, so how you stand changes the result.

On the scale

  • Barefoot, no socks or stockings. Heels on the rear electrodes.
  • Lift the handle to pelvis height, arms straight and away from your body.
  • Every finger on the handle, thumbs on the thumb electrodes, hands not touching.
  • Thighs apart. If they touch, wear shorts.
  • Hold still until the test finishes, then step off.

Before you step on

  • Test in the morning, after the toilet and before food.
  • Before a workout, shower, bath or sauna.
  • Stand for about five minutes first.
  • Same time, same conditions, every time. Follow the trend, not one reading.
Step on barefoot, then lift the handle on its cable. Six seconds, no sound.

If something looks off.

Find what the screen shows, then try the fix. Most codes mean the scale couldn’t get a clean contact.

Looking after it.

  • Cleaning

Wipe the plates and handle with a soft cloth. For heavier dirt, use a well-wrung cloth with a little mild detergent. Never put detergent or liquid straight onto the electrodes. After someone with an infection has used it, wipe it with an alcohol wipe.

  • Where to keep it

On a hard, flat floor in a dry room. Bathrooms and damp rooms affect it. Keep it away from the fridge, TV, microwave and power outlets.

  • Storing it

Not using it for a while? Take the batteries out and store it flat in its box, away from damp and direct sun.

  • Repairs

Only InBody’s service team should open or repair a Dial. Opening it yourself voids the warranty.

Questions people ask first

Buying

How much does InBody Dial cost in India, and where do I buy it?

The official InBody Dial store in India is shop.inbody.in, run by InBody India Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai. Each model’s current price is on its product page, with free delivery across India and a 1-year InBody India warranty from your invoice date. Pay by UPI, card, net banking or no-cost EMI. Cash on delivery isn’t available.

What’s the difference between H20, H30 and H40?

All three measure arms, trunk and legs the same way. They differ in who uses them. H20 is for just you. H30 is for the whole house: it recognises up to 20 people, syncs over Wi-Fi and rates upper–lower balance. H40 is for people who train: it adds leg muscle level and upper-body and lower-body balance. See the full comparison.

Why does Dial cost more than a basic smart scale that also shows body fat?

Foot-only scales measure your legs and guess the rest. Dial measures arms, trunk and legs with 8 electrodes, and its thumb electrodes help repeat tests line up. You pay for a trend you can act on, with no per-scan fee, and on H30 and H40, one scale for up to 20 people.

EMI, UPI, cash on delivery?

Pay by UPI, card or net banking. No-cost EMI on every Dial; you’ll see the monthly amount on the product page. Cash on delivery isn’t available.

What’s the warranty?

One year on Dial scales and six months on accessories, from the invoice date, against manufacturing defects. Read the warranty.

Can I return it?

If your Dial arrives damaged, faulty, wrong or incomplete, tell us within 14 days of delivery, with photos or a video and the original packaging. Change-of-mind returns are not accepted. Email salesupportindia@inbody.com with your order number. How replacement works.

Measuring

Is Dial as accurate as a DEXA scan?

No. No home scale is a DEXA scan. DEXA is a snapshot; Dial is built for the weeks between. It estimates body composition from how a tiny current passes through you, so test the same way each time and follow your own trend.

Why does my gym’s machine show a different body fat percentage?

Different machines measure differently: other electrodes, frequencies and formulas, often at another time of day. Pick one, test the same way each time, and follow your own trend. Your gym’s InBody results can sit in the same app: scan the QR on the result sheet. Some models and facilities may not support it.

Why do two tests close together differ?

Usually posture or contact. Keep your thumbs and heels on the electrodes and your arms away from your body until the test ends. Food, drink, a workout or a shower also move the reading, so test at the same time each day, in the same conditions.

Does Dial show each arm and leg separately?

It measures them separately, but doesn’t show kilos for each arm or leg. The H20 combines them into whole-body results. The H30 rates upper–lower balance. The H40 adds upper-body and lower-body balance and a leg muscle level.

What is visceral fat level?

Dial’s estimate of the fat stored deep in your belly, around your organs, shown as a level from 1 to 20. Under 10 is the standard range for adults. Watch the direction over months, and ask your doctor what your level means for you.

Does Dial show body water?

No. Dial doesn’t show body water, so it isn’t a hydration test. Water still affects every reading, which is why you test at the same time, in the same conditions.

How do family profiles work?

The H30 and H40 recognise up to 20 people. They match your weight first, then your body’s own electrical signal, and show your name for a few seconds so you can switch if it picked the wrong person. Visitors can test as Guest without touching anyone’s history. On the H20 you set your height on the dial before each test.

Our Wi-Fi went down. Did I lose my results?

No. The H30 and H40 keep up to 15 results per person on the scale and send them all when Wi-Fi returns. After 15, the oldest is replaced.

Can I turn the beep off?

On the H30 and H40, yes: switch the device sound off in the app’s product settings.

Can I just weigh myself, without the full test?

Yes. On the H20, tap the plate, wait for 0.0 on the screen, then step on. A beep means it’s done.

Which phones does the app work on?

iOS 15 or later, or Android 8 or later. The H20 sends results over Bluetooth, so keep your phone nearby. The H30 and H40 also sync over home Wi-Fi.

Safety and data

Can I use Dial if I have a pacemaker?

No. Don’t use any Dial if you have a pacemaker or any other implanted medical device, or wear a patient-monitoring device.

Can I use Dial while pregnant?

Speak to your doctor first. The H30 and H40 manuals ask you to check with your doctor before measuring during pregnancy, and readings won’t reflect your usual body composition while you’re pregnant.

I have a metal implant or joint replacement.

You can test, but metal pins, plates and prostheses can make results less accurate. Follow your own trend, measured the same way each time. If the implant is electronic, don’t use Dial.

Can my child use it?

The H30 is rated from age 3, the H40 from age 6 and 110 cm. The H20 manual gives no minimum age. An adult should help them hold the right posture. Children’s results are judged differently from adults’, so read them with your paediatrician.
